A cubic yard is about the size of a washing machine. Here is how each of our roll-off sizes compares, drawn to scale next to a 6-foot person.

Quote a 30-yard| Project | Usual size |
|---|---|
| Yard cleanup, small shed, a few pieces of furniture | 5 yard |
| Single bathroom remodel, garage cleanout, small deck | 10 yard |
| Roof tear-off (average home), flooring, kitchen remodel | 10–15 yard |
| Concrete, dirt, brick or tile (heavy debris) | 5–10 yard (weight limited) |
| Whole-home cleanout, multi-room remodel | 20 yard |
| New construction, estate cleanout, major demolition | 30 yard |
Heavy materials like concrete and dirt fill the weight limit long before the box is full. Tell us what you are loading so we send the right container.
A 10-yard dumpster handles most single bathroom remodels, including tile, a tub or shower surround, vanity and drywall.
Shingles are heavy. A 10 or 15 yard box handles most homes. For larger roofs or multiple layers, ask us, we may suggest two smaller swaps to keep weight reasonable.
A 20-yard handles most whole-home cleanouts. For a large estate or a house with a garage and shed, a 30-yard may make sense.
Because we charge by the ton, a slightly bigger box does not cost you for empty space. It is usually cheaper than a second haul.
